The image on these cards is of the James Whalen Tugboat. 
 
Built in 1905, it was sent to retire upon the Kaministiquia River at the Kam River Heritage Park in Thunder Bay, Ontario in the early 1990's. However, in 2022 something terrible happened. The old tugboat took on water and sank.  It sat there in the river, half in and half out.  Poor ol' James Whalen just sat there day after day, not for a week or a month but 6 months. No one wanted to take responcibilty to get this historic tug out of the river.  Finally in September, later that year, he was raised and sent to the Paterson Dock where they were going to figure out what to do with that old Tug.  And that's the story of our old friend, James Whalen Tugboat. 
 
Thunder Bay is on the Robinson-Superior Treaty territory, traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg.
